Proposed programme · Adults 18+
Turn an AI idea into a testable managerial decision.
Who it is for
The proposed programme is for adults aged 18 or over. Do not submit minors’ information.
Observable learning outcomes
These are intended learning outcomes, assessed through work. They are not promises of employment, salary growth or business success.
Proposed syllabus
Map who makes a decision, what information they use and where work is delayed. Separate desirable speed from a valuable outcome.
Learner output: A workflow map and one clearly bounded use-case statement.
Practise instructions, input boundaries, output formats and evidence checks using original synthetic examples. Compare a weak and a testable task brief.
Learner output: A reusable task brief and a reviewer checklist.
Define a baseline, representative examples, error categories and acceptance criteria. Include difficult examples rather than selecting only favourable results.
Learner output: A ten-example evaluation table with a documented comparison method.
Examine sensitive information, unsupported assertions, escalation and responsibility. Choose where a person must check, approve or override an output.
Learner output: A risk register, data boundary and responsibility map.
Estimate net time, review effort, software costs and failure costs. Test whether the benefit remains when assumptions change.
Learner output: A pilot economics sheet and two sensitivity scenarios.
Present evidence, handle peer challenge and propose an adoption, revision or rejection decision. Agree a monitoring and rollback plan.
Learner output: An instructor-reviewed pilot proposal and revision note.
Try it before registering interest
A fictional learning scenario created for the Lab. You can use it without an account; it does not contribute to a certificate.
Try a lesson · about 15–20 minutes
A public demonstration using original hypothetical material. Explore choices and compare your reasoning. This activity does not submit work, count towards assessed progress or issue a certificate.
Hypothetical exercise: Paperlane is an invented small stationery seller. Its team handles 40 support messages a day. A human-only reply takes six minutes. A proposed AI-assisted process takes one minute to draft and three minutes to check. Some enquiries mention addresses; refund decisions must follow an approved policy. These numbers are invented learning inputs, not results from a real business.
Choose a pilot approach, write a task brief and propose one condition that would stop the trial. Try a different choice to see how the reasoning changes. Feedback is written instructional guidance, not AI-generated advice.
Your notes stay on this page unless you choose to save them in this browser or download them. They are not sent to the Lab. Avoid personal, employer, customer or confidential information. Browser-saved notes can be read by someone using this browser profile.
This is one defensible response. Your recommendation may differ if you explain the assumptions and evidence.
Capstone and assessment
Submit a five-page AI workflow pilot proposal for an original hypothetical or explicitly authorised business setting. Include a task brief, ten-example evaluation, baseline comparison, cost assumptions, risk controls, human decision owner and stop/go criteria. A proposal can recommend against adoption if the evidence supports that decision.
Human instructors review assessed work. Automated lesson checks are practice feedback, not a final certification decision.
| Criterion | Weight | What the reviewer looks for |
|---|---|---|
| Problem and workflow clarity | 20% | A specific user, decision and baseline with a justified boundary. |
| Evaluation and evidence | 30% | Representative examples, reproducible criteria, honest errors and a credible baseline comparison. |
| Risk and human oversight | 25% | Permitted data, named responsibilities, escalation and appropriate stopping conditions. |
| Economics and recommendation | 15% | Transparent cost assumptions, sensitivity and a conclusion supported by the evidence. |
| Communication and revision | 10% | A concise decision document that addresses instructor and peer feedback. |
Proposed certificate criteria
A Certificate of Completion may be issued only after the approved requirements and instructor assessment have been met.
